PainTEQ is committed to ensuring that everyone — patients, caregivers, and clinicians — can access our website regardless of ability or technology.
Conformance status
We aim for conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. WCAG defines requirements for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
We are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some content does not yet fully meet the standard; we are actively identifying and remediating gaps.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML with meaningful heading hierarchy and landmark regions
- All images carry descriptive
alttext, or are marked decorative - Color contrast meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA minimums (4.5:1 body text, 3:1 large text and UI)
- All interactive controls are keyboard-operable with visible focus indicators
- Forms include associated labels and descriptive error messages
- Animations respect
prefers-reduced-motion— motion-sensitive users see static content - Site is tested with NVDA + Chrome and VoiceOver + Safari during development
- No content flashes more than three times per second
- Font sizes are set in relative units and scale with browser preferences
Known limitations
- 3D implant viewer: The interactive viewer currently has limited keyboard navigation. A keyboard-accessible alternative is under evaluation.
- Third-party content: Some linked external resources (journal articles, reimbursement documents) may not fully conform. We do not control those pages.
- PDF documents: Downloadable PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen reader use. Tagged versions are available on request.
Technical approach
This site relies on semantic HTML5, CSS3 (custom properties, media queries, container queries), and progressively-enhanced JavaScript. All interactive functionality remains operable without JavaScript where feasible.

Blog posts, third-party linked resources, and legacy pages not yet migrated to the current design system are outside this scope but are being evaluated for inclusion.
Formal complaints
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to propose a resolution or workaround within 20 business days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the U.S. Access Board at access-board.gov.
