LinQ to Life: How Dr. Mehta Helped His Patient Live Pain-free

Corrine had always enjoyed spending quality time with her family and staying active by playing with her grandchildren. Unfortunately, this became increasingly difficult due to her chronic back pain. When work started feeling like a burden, Corrine sought the help of Dr. Pankaj Mehta from Pain Specialists of America, who diagnosed her with sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction and recommended the LinQ SI Joint Stabilization System

“I was ready for a long-term treatment that was going to provide sustained pain relief,” said Corrine. After dealing with back pain for three years, Corrine was excited to finally have her wish.

Corrine Begins Seeking SI Joint Pain Relief

Throughout the time Corrine was dealing with back pain from her SI joint, she began to lose sleep, and everyday tasks were becoming more difficult.

“The pain was mainly on my right side. I was dragging my leg at work after a long day, also had some groin pain that got worse.” stated Corrine. As a result, she tried a number of different treatments, including epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, and SI joint injections. However, nothing provided her with the long-term relief she so desperately needed.

That was until Dr. Mehta changed her life by recommending LinQ, a small allograft implant that would provide her with the relief she needed to finally get her life back.

Corrine Finds Relief with the LinQ Procedure

After Dr. Mehta successfully completed the LinQ procedure, Corrine found the relief she needed after years of struggling.

“I’m finally sleeping better,” Corrine said. “I used to wake up with lots of pain every night, and now my pain score is like a 0.5-1 out of 10.” Corrine is now able to participate in activities with her grandkids, and family time has become enjoyable again.

What Is the LinQ Procedure for SI Joint Pain?

The LinQ system offers patients a minimally invasive approach to reducing and, in some cases eliminating SI joint pain. During the procedure, a single LinQ allograft about the size of an almond is placed in the joint space to provide long-term SI joint stabilization.

LinQ is an outpatient procedure that uses a posterior approach away from major nerves and blood vessels. As a result, patients have a reduced risk of complications and most are able to return to their daily activities quicker.
